I was one of 5 founding members of the illustration design system. Our art director Reza created a deck highlighting how our illustration styles needed a cohesive language so after much research and explorations we landed on isometric, which naturally mimics the essence of games
Description

Members / Principles
At the time I received this request, I was working on a modular pattern system to help XDS (Xbox Design System) test overlay elements for difficult to read color scenarios (i.e. contrast ratio testing for game art with text overlays)
Primitives
After Reza defined the shading / iso grid my first contribution was to creating the essential building blocks for making isometric objects
I also created actions in illustrator to help accelerate the isometric angle process
Shared libraries
As a group we often would create one off iso objects for our features and eventually categorized them in libraries
After we had a healthy amount of objects, we also took a pass at creating a compositions for teams to use for their product. Collaboration was key to everyone’s success
Various works
Here’s a gallery of all the isometric Illustrations I have done over the years. Since we all leverage from a shared library there is a large mix of borrowed objects and new ones I created
