Project Halcyon was reimagining the look and feel of the Game Pass mobile app. I wasn’t around for those Northstar comps, but they ended up being the blueprint for the updated app and the work Jessica Elliott and I did heavily influenced XDS’s (Xbox Design System) components since we were some of the first Xbox products to use their components.
My main role for launch was making sure our designs translated well into landscape and tablet along with the responsive story. I also spearheaded a couple main features, such as PDP and Settings.
After we launched in 2020, I became the Lead Mobile Designer. My responsibilities expanded and my involvement with feature creating. Our design and dev team worked hard to be the first app in gaming to get Grade B accessibility, a huge milestone. Our app was also the highest rated Xbox mobile app with a 4.8 in iOS and 4.7 on Android.
